Key Verse
“And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15
Text — 2 Chronicles 20:15-22
Message
Life generally is full of battles. Jehoshaphat king of Judah and his people received news that made them sad, fearful and dejected. What was the unpleasant news? A combination of nations with stronger military strength was coming to wage war against them! They managed to brush aside the problem to pray to God. Naturally, life challenges can bring fear, sense of inadequacy and depression. Believers should always remember that no problem is bigger than our God.
It is cheerful and comforting to know that God will never leave us alone to face our battles, rather, He will fight for us. The Bible gives us assurance in Isaiah 43:2 “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” The battle against Jehoshaphat was taken over by God Who made the enemies to turn against themselves. What is your own battle? Look up to God; fear not, for the Lord will fight your battle and you will enjoy peace.
