Key Verse
“Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits” (Romans 12:16).
Text —Romans 12:9-18
Message
In the mode of entire consecration, David Livingstone, a medical doctor, who was a missionary to South Africa prayed, “God send me anywhere, only go with me. Lay any burden on me, only sustain me. And sever any tie in my heart except the tie that binds my heart to yours.” He preached the gospel in South Africa for many years and won souls to Christ. He finally died of fever, praying on his knees. Jesus declared, “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it” (Matthew 10:39).
Condescension means to be willing to serve people considered to be lower than your class or social rank. It includes a readiness to work in those areas of need that are considered to be of little or no prestige. Many youths are high-minded, not willing to associate with whoever they consider to be below their class. Such an attitude is not Christ-like. Christian youths must not wait for “big” opportunities before they consecrate to serve and be a blessing to the Church and humanity.
