What Is Your Occupation? Part 1

Key Verse

“And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers” (Genesis 47: 3).

Text — Genesis 47:1-3

Message

In a world that witnesses an increasing rate of global economic recessions, with attendant shrinking white-collar jobs, it has become increasingly important for youths to acquire different skills. These skills can be acquired side-by-side with formal educational programmes. Plato said, “No two persons are born exactly alike, but each differs from the other in natural endowment: one being suited for one occupation and the other for another. All things will be produced in superior quantity and quality and with greater ease, when each man works at a single occupation in accordance with his natural gifts.”
Acquire at least a skill. Young Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of multi-million-dollar companies have appeared on the business scenes of many countries. What is required is the guidance of God for what to do. The pursuit of academic qualification remains critical for the development of the world, so, acquire education. However, you should develop yourself beyond academic qualification. Paul was a lawyer, yet a tent-maker. Are you a child of God? Seek His face on the occupation you can engage in for a successful career.
