Key Verse

Message
Our text opens us to a challenge that followed after the grand coronation of David as king of Israel. This is supported by the saying, “For every new level, there is a new devil.” Believers are in constant battles, not against the physical flesh but against principalities and powers. Many a youth throw in the towel when faced with life’s challenges. The reaction of David towards his challenge should be emulated by every true believer. First, he sought the guidance of the Lord Almighty. We must always seek God’s counsel in prayer in all of our life’s decisions, especially when at crossroads or when confronted with a Herculean task. We need God’s guidance in our academics, the choice of course to study, and the institution of higher learning to choose, rather than seek advice from ungodly sources or despair in confusion.
A believer should not give room for confusion, and the antidote to confusion is timely seeking God’s counsel. God granted King David assurance and hence victory was won. Let’s always remember that when we’re challenged, God will never leave or forsake us.
