Key Verse
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
Text — Isaiah 53: 1- 5
Message
Jesus Christ is the Wounded Healer. Our key verse declares it “but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities… and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) Jesus has the ability to heal our wounds because Himself also had been wounded. He was wounded for our sins and beaten with many stripes; so He knows what it is like. The wound inflicted on us by sin, Satan and self can only be healed by Jesus. The sins of stealing, fighting, telling lies and doing many bad things can be healed (taken away) by Jesus. Satan who makes us to disobey God every time and the flesh that makes us proud and not submit to God are like wounds that need to be healed.
Jesus is the only One who can heal these wounds because He had also been through the pains. When Jesus was on earth, He healed many people of their sicknesses and diseases and they were always looking for Him to deliver men from the oppression of Satan. He is still the same today as He was when He walked on the earth. Though wounded, Jesus is our Healer. Ask Him to come and take away those wounds of sin and sicknesses, He will set you free.
