Key Verse
“And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.” 1 King 18:1
— 1 King 18:1-7
Message
Rain is a blessing from God upon the earth. The absence of rain will affect a lot of things, including the shortage of food, as crops will wither and eventually die. The children of Israel during the reign of King Ahab experienced famine in the land because of disobedience and idolatry. As punishment for their sin, God sent Prophet Elijah to Ahab to warn him and to also proclaim that there shall be no dew nor rain in the land for three and half years. But God is merciful, and He will not allow the people to continue to suffer. After three and half years of famine, God sent Elijah to call the people to repentance and to also prove that He is God by sending rain upon the earth. This is the physical rain that we see with our eyes.
God, as the rainmaker, also sends His spiritual rain on all, but before you can benefit from the rain of God’s blessing, you must acknowledge Him as your maker and repent of all sins so that you can fully enjoy all that He has prepared for you.
