Key Verse
“The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance” (Deuteronomy 18:1).
TEXT — Deuteronomy 18:1-8
Message
God has clearly defined plans for all His children and servants. His desire is that they render acceptable service without blemish to Him. God demands outright consecration to His service and total separation from the world. For those separated to render such services in our assemblies, He requires believers to minister to their financial and material needs.
The call for separation constitutes the core of today’s text. Of the twelve tribes of Israel, God specifically chose the Levites to minister in the name of the Lord in the tabernacle. As revealed in our text, He decided not to give them any inheritance among the Israelites; but He assured them that the Lord of hosts “is their inheritance…” He, therefore, directed other tribes to provide for them whenever they offered sacrifice. He also directed that the firstfruit of their corn, wine and oil, and the first of the fleece of the sheep should be for the Levites. God made this arrangement for the Levites so that they would not lack anything and consecrate themselves unreservedly to His sacred services.
Like the Levites, God has called workers in His vineyard to minister His words to their congregations. They labour daily to ensure His plans for His people are fulfilled. As they minister the Word, we should always remember to provide for their needs because they are separated unto God.
Thought for the day
How we care for God’s servants reveals the extent of our love for Him.

Thank God for today’s devotional. Our Though for today clearly reveals that “How we care for God’s servants reveals the extent of our love for Him.
In the church were I was before returning to deeper lol ife, the account details of the pastor is made available to the congregation, so that anyone who wants to care for God’s servant “in cash” can easily do so. But we don’t do that here. My question is how then can we care for God’s servant.
Please I need clarification. Anybody who does not pay tithe, will he go to hell? In deeper Life, who are the Levites that do not have inheritance in their fathers’ house? Tithe from the bible is meant for food to be in the house of God because the Levites do not go to their fathers’ house. In Deeper Life, the pastors are working class ,who then are the Levites ? Tithe involves first fruits, everything one gets : are we faithful in it and if not faithful, shall it lead one to hell as a weightier matter? Thanks.
