“The Lord Is My Portion”

Text — Psalm 119:57-64
Message
On the mountain, in the valley, on the land and in the Sea. On the mountain, in the valley, on the land and in the sea, Hallelujah. The Lord is my portion in the land of the living, the Lord is good forevermore. The Lord is my portion in the land of the living, the Lord is good forevermore. The Composer of this chorus probably have read Psalm 119:57. It is a confession of faith that he belongs to the Lord wholly. For us to be able to confidently confess that the Lord is our portion, our life must centre around God and His word.
If we desire to know God and His love, we must abide in His word, seek His favour and His grace with our whole heart, hasten to keep His word, pray often, associate with those who fear Him, look for His love, and pray to know and do His will. We cannot claim that God is our portion without abiding in His Word seeking first His kingdom and its righteousness. As we do these, other things necessary for life here on earth are given to us freely. Wisdom demands that you take Jesus as your portion, then you will become joint heirs with Him.
