Memory Verse
“And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.” 2 Kings 4:6
Text: 2 Kingss 4:1-7
The poor widow in our passage thought she had nothing to offset her family’s debt but a little oil. In the hands of God though, it was enough. When the woman did what God through prophet Elisha told her to do, the little oil was multiplied. God brought the increase as the oil continued to flow, until all the jars were full. Many people in the world today are in the same situation the poor widow found herself. People are suffering under terrible economic hardship, living with heavy load of debt that they cannot pay. We can learn a great lesson of faith from the poor widow. God has all things in abundance. All we need do is to give God the little we have because He will multiply it. We can never have too little that God would not be able to use to bless us in return. Whatever gifts or abilities you have, commit it to God and ask Him to show you where and how you can use them.
It often starts in a small way, but God brings the increase. Our life is the greatest gift God desires that we surrender unto Him. Sinners should surrender their lives to Jesus and accept Him as their Saviour and Lord. Believers should continue to live their lives to the glory of God. Trust God to bring the increase as you step out and do His will.
