The Apple Of God’s Eye

Key Verse

“For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.” Zechariah 2:8

Text — Zechariah 2: 5- 8

Message

The apple of the eye is the central part of the eye known as the pupil. It is responsible for proper vision. If the apple of the eye is removed, such eye will go blind. It is the most delicate part of the eye and must be jealously protected. This is the reason God used the apple of the eye as a figure of speech to define His relationship with His children.

We are greatly valued and dear to God. We are the centre of His attention. He loves and cares for us. To continually enjoy God’s divine care and attention, you must make a conscious effort to remain as the apple of His eye. This, you can do by living a holy life. Separate from all bad influences and be obedient to His word.

Now, pray that God will always reach out to protect you in times of danger just like someone will naturally react to guard the pupil of his eye from harm. If you are not a friend of Jesus, you cannot be the apple of God’s eye. You must repent, forsake your sins and ask Jesus to be your Saviour and Lord. It is after this step that you can become the centre of God’s attention and love.
