Key Verse
“Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. And they departed into a desert place by ship privately” (Mark 6:31, 32).

Message
How would school life be if students were to go to school at 6.00am and close at 6.00pm? – a whole 12 hours! Did you know that in the eighteenth century, during the industrial revolution in Europe, workers worked for ten to sixteen hours a day? It was hectic. Eventually the workers had to ask for shorter hours of work. Their slogan was, “Eight hours labour, eight hours recreation, eight hours rest.” This has become the accepted practice world-wide. Indeed, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Take a break after hours of work.
Following numerous evangelistic activities: preaching, teaching, healing, and deliverances, Jesus directed the disciples, to go to a desert place and have some rest. People ‘crack up’ when there is no rest. Rest refreshes one physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Bob Gass said, “Timely rest restores your energies and maintains your abilities, so that you can function at full capacity. On the other hand, being pulled in too many directions drains your joy, and causes you to give less than your best.” Take a break in all your endeavours.
