Message
We are all aware that there is power through prayer. God, and men of God in Bible times affirmed so. “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16). The writer illustrated the statement with the story of Elijah, a man who prayed and shut the heavens and there was no rain. He prayed again and opened the heavens and rain fell down. That was the power of private, personal, and individual prayer. In the New Testament, the focus shifts from an individual to the Church, the body of Christ. When two or more people pray together, it is called corporate prayer. If the effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man avail much, think of the effectual fervent prayers of two or more righteous persons. Remember the spiritual law that says, “…one shall chase a thousand, and two shall put ten thousand to flight…” (Deuteronomy 32:30).
Through corporate prayers, at home, school or in the Church, we may avert disasters, secure deliverances, and ignite the fire of revival. So, pray unitedly, believing. There is power in corporate prayers.
