Power From On High

Text — Acts 2:1-4
Message
Before going back to heaven, Jesus told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for a very special gift – the Holy Ghost power. The Holy Spirit would help the disciples reach out and tell the world about Jesus. The Holy Spirit will also give them power, wisdom and courage to successfully carry out the Great Commission.
The disciples gathered in a house waiting for something to happen. Suddenly, the sound of a mighty wind filled the house with a roar. Flames of fire appeared all around. Then, everyone present began to speak in different languages that nobody had ever learnt. Neighbours rushed over to see what was happening. Visitors were amazed to hear these simple fellows speaking so many different languages. These were mostly uneducated fishermen, yet they preached powerfully to each visitor in their native tongue.
Do you know the Holy Spirit is still very much in operation in the church today? He wants to help and empower all friends of Jesus. All you need do is to surrender your life to Jesus and become His friend. Secondly, develop the desire and also pray to be sanctified. This experience will make your heart holy and prepared to receive the power from on high, then sincerely pray in faith for God to baptize you. God has given you the Holy Spirit to be your special coach and helper.
