“Open Thou Mine Eyes”

Key Verse

“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” Psalm 119:18

Text — Psalm 119:17-24

Message

Cleopas and a Christian friend were walking toward a city known as Emmaus. On their journey, they started talking about the resurrection of Christ. The story was a mystery to them. As they continued in their journey, the Lord Jesus Himself appeared and joined them walking along and also listening to their discussions, but they did not recognize Him. When they got to their destination, Jesus agreed to stay with them in their house. While there, Jesus opened their spiritual eyes, then they knew that it was the same Jesus they had been talking about that had been with them. He corrected them for not believing what the Bible had prophesied concerning Him. After that, He disappeared; they did not see Him again.

Many children attend church, hear about Jesus, read about Jesus, sing about Jesus, even pray to Jesus, but they do not know Who Jesus Christ is. The day you recognize Jesus as the only Saviour Who died for you on the cross, you will be born again and your life will become new. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Except God opens your eyes, you cannot know Him. But for God to open your eyes, you must humble yourself, pay close attention to His word and receive the word of the Bible as the word of God.

Children who play while the word of God is being taught and have no respect for the word cannot have their spiritual eyes opened. Spiritual blindness is a serious sickness. Pray today that God will open your spiritual eyes so you can see and experience the salvation of the Lord.
