Key Verse
“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever” (1 John2:17).
Text — 1 John 2:15-17
Message
The term “world” is translated from the Greek word “kosmos” which can mean the universe, the earth as well as the entire human family. John, in his epistle, describes the “world” by its content: “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.” The sinfulness in the world is fast increasing; moral values are being eroded, and many careless youths who are not praying have been craftily ensnared into immoral relationships, gambling, carnal competition, pool betting, fashion fads, dishonesty, fleshly lusts, cybercrimes, etc. Christian youths are to know that this world is not their final abode.
A Christian youth, though earth-born, is heaven bound. A glorious kingdom awaits as many people as will take a stand by the grace of God, not to love or admire the world. Rather than trying to conform to the systems and styles of the world, we should remain ambassadors of Christ, leading others to Him. This includes living as the light of the world and waiting patiently for the glorious appearing of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Quote
Remain ambassador of Christ
