Look And Live

Key Verse

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live” (Numbers 21:8).

Text — Numbers 21:7-9

Our text shows how the Israelites who had been bitten by fiery serpents in the wilderness due to their murmurings against God and Moses were asked to look at the bronze serpent and live.  The serpent was a type of Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross where He bled and died for lost humanity. There is however life for those who look unto Him for salvation. In his book, The Divine Conquest, A. W. Tozer wrote, “That life which goes to the cross and loses itself there to rise again with Christ is a divine and deathless treasure. Over it death hath no dominion.”

The subject of the sinfulness of man and his condemnation is universal.  But God has provided an escape route in the crucified Christ.  As a sinner, turn to Jesus Christ who died on the Cross of Calvary to pay for your sins. All that God requires of you is to “Look and live.”  Turn to Christ in genuine repentance and the blood He shed at Calvary will cleanse you from your iniquity.

As a sinner, turn to Jesus

Accept God’s redemption offer.
