Key Verse
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Text — 1 Peter 2:9-12
Message
The accurate knowledge of who you are in Christ will help you in a number of ways. It could either help you to embrace and use the privileges you have in Christ, or if you are still outside Christ, to receive Him and become a child of God in order to enjoy same privileges. Randall Jacob said, “There’s no substitute for accurate knowledge, know yourself, know your business, know your men.” Do you know yourself?
Friend, what is your answer to the above question? God describes all His children as members of: (1) a chosen generation, (2) a royal priesthood, (3) a holy nation, (4) a peculiar people. Do these four conditions describe you? The Old Testament saints like Abraham, Moses, Elijah and the New Testament saints such as Peter, John, James and Paul, knew that they belonged to a chosen generation. They were holy and different in a sinful world. Christian youths must be seen to be holy and peculiar in their schools and communities. They should not be named among thieves, fornicators, liars and bullies. If you are a sinner, repent now.
