“Keep The Fire Burning”

Key Verse

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” Leviticus 6:13

Text — Leviticus 6:12-13

Message

Fire is important to the life of every friend of Jesus. The ‘fire’ as used in this message is not a literal fire, but the fire of God that burns in the spirit of a believer. This fire drives the believer to action. Every believer needs it to remain active and this is possible through constant prayer.

The Lord knows how important this fire is which was why He instructed the children of Israel to ensure that the fire burns continually at the altar. The fire was aimed at retaining God’s presence and to also ward off all kinds of false doctrines. In fact, God specifically instructed the priest to regularly ensure the fire was always on at the altar to keep it burning. Although the fire the children of Israel were asked to burn at the altar was a literal fire, ours today is a spiritual fire that is expected to burn ceaselessly. The fire the Lord kindles in us as Christians is gotten through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

This will give you boldness to do exploits for the Lord and also live victoriously. Saved and sanctified children must thirst for and pray through to receive the Holy Spirit baptism. It is the fire that quickens and burns off the spiritual chaff in our life. Desire the fire of the Holy Spirit, pray for it and tarry till you are filled.
