Key Verse
“Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Galatians 4:7
Text — Galatians 4:1-7
Message
Jim was born abroad where his parents reside. A short while later, both his parents died in a car accident when he was barely three months old, hence he was cared for by an Orphanage. As Jim was growing up, the issue of his identity was a serious concern to him. He continually asked for his father’s roots.
This search yielded positive results as Jim came in contact with one of his father’s friends who linked him to his root in their native country. Unknown to Jim, he is from the royal family in a popular community and the community had been looking for him to crown him as the king. As a first-class king, he is entitled to many privileges and benefits. This story is related to children who have been reconciled to God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
The identity of a child of God is not in doubt. Apart from being created in the image of God, a believer is special in God’s hands. We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus. We are new creatures and are declared sons and daughters in God’s family. Then, as sons, we are made heirs, which is the richest inheritance of all.
We are the apple of God’s eyes. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and peculiar people. God wants to help you find your purpose and your identity. Keep seeking Him, and as you get to know Him more, you will begin to discover your true identity in Him. Then you will also live your life for His glory
