I Shall Be The Head

Key Verse

“And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;” Deuteronomy 28:13a

Text — Deuteronomy 28: 8-14

Message

Ephraim was a lazy boy who loves to play and make excuses for his failures. He hardly waits to hear the bell for recess before he runs to the field to play. This had affected him greatly as he was always coming last in the class. However, one day, he heard the gospel in the school fellowship and gave His life to Jesus. The turning point in his academics came when he read the Bible passage which says, “I shall be the head and not the tail.”

He began to take his studies seriously, copied his notes, did his assignments, met with his teachers to explain the subjects he couldn’t understand and prayed to God for success. Before long, his grades improved. He began to represent his school in inter-school debates, quizzes and other competitions and by the grace of God won medals and lovely prizes for the school. He graduated as one of the best pupils in the school thereby proving that God is no Respecter of persons. Whatever He has promised, He is able also to perform. Are you having difficulty with your studies? The promises of God still stand for you, believe and you shall be the head and not the tail.

  1. Thank you for the regular daily devotion for kids. I will however like to point out that the narrator’s message and the one contained on this page are completely different. We would appreciate it if all these discrepancies are ironed out. Thank you.

  2. Thank you so much. It helps my kids and I.
They understand the scripture more and can relate it to their daily living.
