Text — 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Message
In his book, The Mountain of Ignorance in which he describes knowledge as light and ignorance as darkness, Sunday Adelaja states, “We must be true ambassadors of Christ on the earth in order to be able to put an end to the plague of ignorance in our society.” Christians are representatives of God’s Kingdom. Every nation appoints ambassadors or envoys to other nations to represent its interests. Similarly, the Lord uses His children to communicate the message of His Kingdom to sinners. He did not choose to do it through religious people, but through individuals who have faith in His government – the saints.
In the secular setting, an ambassador is a political appointee whose job it is to represent his or her home government before the rulers of other countries. Beloved, are you truly representing Christ by living holy and preaching the gospel? You are His ambassador through whom He draws sinners to Himself and warns rebellious nations and individuals of the coming judgement. Your family, neighbours, schoolmates and teachers must know you as Christ’s ambassador by your peculiar lifestyle.
