Key Verse
“We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;” 1 Thessalonians 1:2
Text — 1Thessalonians 1:1-7
Message
Collins was given a pen by his teacher when the one he was using in class suddenly stopped working. He thanked the teacher, at the close of the school that day, he still went to express his gratitude to the teacher.
Gratitude is showing appreciation for a favour shown. It is about focusing on what’s good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have. Gratitude also means pausing to take note of and appreciate the things that we often take for granted: like having a place to live, food, clean water, clothes, friends and family. Paul in our Bible passage gave thanks to God for the Thessalonian believers. We must learn to give thanks and appreciate people.
If you are in the habit of not showing gratitude, you must repent and change. Begin to appreciate God and other people God is using in your life and you will receive more blessings. More importantly, you must cultivate the attitude of showing appreciation to your parents. Do not take their labour and love for you for granted.
