Key Verse
“Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.” Genesis 50:21
Text — Genesis 50:15-21
Message
Words are powerful, they can either build or hurt a soul. A recent study has shown that encouraging words can help sick people recover faster from their ailments. Joseph’s brothers were afraid that he would treat them badly and pay them back in their own coin after their father’s death.
So, they came pleading, apologizing and asking for mercy. Rather than being harsh, he spoke kindly to them.
There are some people whose words sting like the poison of a snake. That should not be you. Even when someone has spoken some hurtful words to you, learn to forgive rather than let the words breed hatred and revenge. Be the mouth of Jesus to give hope to the hopeless and reassurance that God is still on the throne and can fix whatever situation no matter how seemingly hopeless. Make a pledge today, that you will always speak gracious words to comfort, encourage, lift up and bless everyone around you.
