Key Verse
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38).
Text — Luke 6:31-38
Message
It was Andrew Carnegie who stated that, “No man becomes rich unless he enriches others.” He was qualified to make that statement because he too was a great giver and was tremendously enriched. He was a Scottish-American industrialist – a steel magnate. He became one of the richest Americans in the 19th century. It is on record that as a great philanthropist, in the last 18 years of his life, he gave away roughly $5.5 billion to charities, foundations, and universities. That was almost 90% of his fortune. He called on rich people to use their wealth to improve society.
Every Christian youth should have a giving mindset. Give as God desires. Yes, do it cheerfully, bountifully, and sacrificially, according to the needs and as you can. Remember Christ’s words that, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Giving can be costly! However, do it. The motive of giving is also important: to meet needs, bring joy to sad faces, and to please God. It should not be to be known as a giver. Ensure you sow to reap here and in eternity.
