Key Verse
“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” 1 Corinthians 9:24
Text — 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Message
An athlete makes it a duty to practise constantly so as to win the prize at the end of the day. One of the ways of winning is by keeping to the rules of the game like, staying in track, not running before the whistle blows and being focused.
The Christian journey is filled with bitter and sweet experiences. The bitter experiences come from Satan the enemy of our soul and his agents. They come seeking to discourage and stop the Christian from finishing well. On the other hand, God is always there to provide sweet testimonies for everyone who will endure all oppositions and persecutions, and run the race to the end. Paul experienced victory because he endured, exercised self-control and self-denial. He was also focused seeing that there was a prize waiting for him. It is only those that finish well that will get the prize.
To get to the kingdom of God and obtain the heavenly crown, you have to run your race with focus and determination. The kingdom of heaven is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Make up your mind today to run the Christian race to the end and finish well.
