Memory Verse
Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).
Text: Hebrews 12:14-17
Corrie Ten Boom lived during the Second World War and experienced the agony of losing her sister through a wicked German guard. After being released from the concentration camp, she had a preaching engagement in a Church where she taught on forgiveness. Unknown to her in one of the meetings, the guard was present. He walked up to her, and commended her for the message, stating that it touched him. She recognized the cruel man and felt coldness within her towards him. It took the grace of God for her to make peace with the man that inflicted deadly harm on her sister.
Holiness and peace are indispensable virtues everyone who is born again must possess to see God. In a world full of offences, we have a responsibility to be holy and forgive all offenders, thereby making peace with them. Jesus, our best example, was sinless and made peace between God and lost humanity. Abraham also made peace with Lot. Friend, avoid sin and live in peace with people at home, school and elsewhere. Are you a sinner? Repent and become a peace-builder.
