Crying Unto God

Key Verse

“Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.” Psalm 107:13

Text — Psalm 107: 13-16

Message

Crying has both positive and negative effect. Many people see crying as a form of expression of pains or bad things that happen to a person. This is not always so. There is a type of cry that serves good benefits to the person doing the cry. Some people have found out that crying has a soothing effect, regulates and calm emotions. A study explained how crying activates the nervous system, which helps people relax. It helps to relieve pain, reduces frustration, disappointment and aggression. Crying helps people to get support from others around them. Even nations do cry to one another for help in time of disasters or war. It is however, needless to cry to or seek from those who cannot help us. Those who cried in our text cried unto the Lord. This is the most reasonable thing to do in time of trouble. This is so because the Lord is able to save us from our distresses.

Have you ever cried to your dad or mom or to someone else before at such a time you were in need or in trouble? Crying helps to express our need of help. But let the shout of your cry go first to Jesus. Cry to Him to save you from sin or to keep you from sinning. He will save you and protect you from evil. Also, cry unto Him in time of need, He will help you.
