Key Verse
“Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.” Jeremiah 4:5
Text — Jeremiah 4:1-8
Message
The trumpet is a wind musical instrument usually with a metal tube, a cup-shaped mouthpiece and a flared bell. It is used to alert, make announcement or give warning of what is about to take place or has happened. Watchmen usually blow it in the olden days to warn of war or an impending danger. It is used both to express joy or sadness.
In today’s Bible passage, the trumpet was blown to warn of an impending danger – God’s judgment on idolatrous Israelites for their sinful ways. God is a loving Father Who does not take pleasure in punishing His children.
If you are still doing bad things like stealing, fighting, telling lies and many more of such things God wants you to, repent now, confess the bad things to Jesus and ask Him to forgive and wash you with His precious blood. Invite Him into your life as Saviour and Lord and promise never to go back to sin. Begin to live a new life in Christ. Remember that God loves you. Also, know and prepare for the trumpet’s sound that will signal the end of time. Only friends of Jesus will hear.
