Key Verse
“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.” Psalm 119:1
Text — Psalm 119:1-8
Message
God is pure and righteous in all His ways. He expects all His children to be like Him. Today’s text expresses the blessedness or happiness for those who live a pure and righteous life. To be pure means to live life free from sin. It is important to note that any child without the grace of God cannot live a righteous life. To possess the grace of God, a child must surrender his life and heart to Jesus the Saviour of his soul. This is the first work of grace called salvation or freedom from sin. After this experience, the child will ask God again for another experience called sanctification or purity of heart. This is the second work of grace. These experiences are gifts from God which He freely gives to anyone who asks. These experiences will enable such a child to live an undefiled life, keep the word of God and seek Him with his whole heart.
The blessings for living a pure life include peace of God, power to serve God, protection from God, answer to prayers, wisdom from above and a place in heaven with God. To preserve this blessedness of living a pure life, we must walk continually before God according to His word, obey His word, respect all His commandments and worship Him in truth and spirit.
