Key Verse
“… nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5b
Text — Luke 5:1-6
Message
Simon Peter had been out all night on the high sea to fish but caught nothing. He was at the shore washing his net in readiness to go back home empty-handed. Then Jesus appeared on the scene and requested to use Peter’s ship. He willingly allowed Jesus to use it to preach to the multitude. This simple obedience paid off when after the ministration Jesus told him to launch out for a great catch. Although he explained to Jesus how they had labored all night without being able to catch a single fish he, however, said “at thy word I will…”
Obedience always brings a blessing. When God instructs us to do anything, just obey. It might seem foolish or not appealing to common sense but ‘just obey’ and leave the rest in His hands. Peter obeyed and had a net-breaking catch. As you make up your mind to obey God and actually do so this year, great shall be your testimony in Jesus’ name, amen.
