Key Verse
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15
Text — 1 Timothy 1:12-16
Message
Saul was a wicked and an injurious person before he was converted. He violently persecuted the believers and put many of them in jail. His terrible violence against God’s people was sufficient reason for ranking himself as the “chief” sinner. He knew that he did not merit forgiveness from God. Yet, Jesus appeared to him to show His mercy and love to a bully. Apostle Paul obtained mercy so that Jesus might show forth His unlimited patience to many others who would hear his testimony, accept God’s love and be saved.
The abundant grace and mercy of God towards stubborn sinners should encourage us to share the gospel even to the worst of sinners, believing that God’s grace and power can redeem and change their lives too. However, if you are still a sinner, Jesus is calling you to be a saint. You must understand that as a sinner, you need the mercy of God.
Therefore, repent and ask for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Ask Jesus to come into your heart to be your Saviour and friend. Now, you can confidently say that you are now a saint on your way to heaven.
