Will You Be Ready?

Key Verse

“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.” Mark 13:33

Text — Mark 13: 33-37

Message

The only information given was that the International Scholarship examination had been postponed indefinitely. That means the examination can hold any day in the future. Some serious-minded students knew what that meant: constant daily preparation in readiness for the examination. Unfortunately, some lazy pupils felt it was time to play and relax. Suddenly, the examination day came and only those students who were always ready were able to pass.

The question that forms the title of our devotion is very heart searching and personal. You could miss an exam and prepare for another in future, but if you miss the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, you will cry bitterly. People present different arguments about Jesus’ coming back to the world. Some say it is not a true story. Some say it is not their business; that means, they have nothing to do with Him. The last group say they are expecting the Lord eagerly, every moment of the day.

The coming back of Jesus to the earth has very serious consequences for you and everyone living on earth. It will be the beginning of eternal joy and peace in heaven for you as a friend of Jesus, while it will mark the beginning of eternal regret and pain in hell fire for others.

Watch: so that you are not carried away by the affairs of this life and forget His coming. Pray: that you will be counted among the faithful ones who will meet the Lord in the air. Live every moment of your life as if Jesus is coming today; right now.
