Key Verse
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).
TEXT — Romans 8:31-39
Message
One day, as Gloria Gaither sat alone in their darkened living room, tormented and fearful because of the challenges in her family, the Lord sent her a calm and peaceful rest. Joy enveloped her; in euphoria, she burst into a song: “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, all fear is gone; because I know He holds the future. And life is worth the living just because He lives”.
Our text reveals the encouragement given by Apostle Paul, assuring committed believers of victory through our Lord, Jesus. Arraying the vast arsenal the devil launches against Christians, he stated that these weapons are pitiably feeble against the force on the side of the child of God. Jesus Christ is that Force fighting on behalf of His saints. We cannot fall at the war front because if God is for us, none can withstand us.
Sometimes, believers face battles that make them think they have sinned against God. Maybe not. These battles may result from Satan’s anger towards the believer, human plots and enmity. In every man’s life, there comes a time of trouble in which there seems to be no solution because man lacks the capacity and is limited by a conquered spirit. When you run into any challenge, learn not to complain to people; they may not have the solution. Learn to praise God and rely on Him. As He answered Gloria Gaither, He will answer you.
Praises are powerful. When you have prayed and there is no change to your condition, praise the Lord. Your praises must be from a heart full of faith in God’s faithfulness. Also, learn to believe the written Word even before the walls fall; before the disease departs; before the prison doors are opened, and before seeing answers to your prayers. God is in control of all things about you.
Thought for the day
Praise is native to a grateful heart.
