“The Messiah Still Calls Men”
Monday, April 28, 2025Key Verse
“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:18-19).
Text —Matthew 4:18-22
Message
Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Anointed One; and because of His saving power He draws people to Himself to see and enjoy the light of life. Keith Provance says, “Who God calls, He equips. Who He equips, He anoints to do the job.” Do not ignore the call of the Messiah.
David Livingstone says: “God send me anywhere, only go with me. Lay any burden on me, only sustain me. And sever any tie in my heart except the tie that binds my heart to you.” When we consecrate our lives to God we will do His will without complaining. Paul admonished his co-workers to follow him in the same way he was following Christ. As a Christian youth, begin to follow Christ now. “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Do not delay your decision to follow Christ because tomorrow may be too late. Heed the call to salvation, consecration or service.
