Key Verse
“Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart” (Ephesians 6:6).
Text —Ephesians 6:5-8
Message
Former US President, Jimmy Carter, once said: “We need a better family to make us a better servant of the people.” Also, Martin Luther added, “A Christian man is the freest lord of all, subject to no one. He is the dutiful servant of all, subject to everyone.” Real Christian servants are saved and manifest the fruit of salvation, whether in spiritual or secular services. They work with commitment and do not seek to please men, but God who is the ultimate owner of all works.
Many youths are trapped in eye service at home, school or places of work. They are serious in their service in the Church when the pastor is around; at home when their parents are watching them and in their places of work when under strict supervision. They fail to understand that God hates eye service among His children who are expected to be the light of the world wherever they find themselves. Only those who are born again can truly serve with singleness of heart, obedience, love, and holiness. Purge yourself of eye service!
