Text —Proverbs 20:1-5
Message
The word “sluggard” is defined by Merriam-Webster as a “habitually lazy person.” A sluggard is a lazy, sleepy, slow-moving person. He/she is indifferent to the demands of the future, always having excuse for leaving things undone. The sluggard may desire to grow spiritually and work for God, but the discipline of regular personal Bible study, prayers, church commitment, and consistent Christian living are just too much for him to bear.
Youths who are Sluggards don’t excel in their academic or spiritual endeavours. The Lord is calling all indolent boys and girls to awake from their slumber. You need to plan now in order to live a fulfilled, healthy and prosperous life both on earth and in eternity. If you are a sluggard and have been trying to overcome without success, you can turn to God for His touch upon your life to experience a new life in Christ. You need to be committed to hard work, prayer and to pleasing God in all things, and surely, He will supply you the grace to overcome laziness and procrastination. Dear friend, you will excel.
