Memory Verse
“And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.” Exodus 2:4
Text: Exodus 2:1-9.
Miriam was a faithful, caring and loving sister of Mose. God used her to save the life of her brother.
It was not only in the days of Moses, even in our time there are many caring sisters who are still saving their siblings from danger. A story was told of a little girl called Martha. Martha was four years old when it all happened. Her mother had placed her three months old brother neatly wrapped with a blanket in the baby bed. The baby woke up and started playing using his little hand to remove the covering.
Martha was always there beside her brother’s bed watching or playing with him. Suddenly she observed the baby had covered his face with the blanket and was struggling, crying and gasping for air. She cried out to her mother who rushed in and saved the baby from being choked. The mother was grateful to Martha and always tell the story of how his sister saved his life to Dan when he grew up.
What should you do to your brothers and sisters? Play with them. Pray for them. Love and care for them. Protect them from evil and preach the love of Jesus to them. You should show them the way to heaven. That is the great good you can do to them.
