Message

Have you ever felt so passionate about something, only to lose interest over time? Maybe it was a hobby, a sport, or even your relationship with God. The church members in Ephesus were doing many good things, but Jesus told them that they had forgotten their first love. They had become so busy with mere religious activities that they forgot to love Him.

Imagine you’re in a relationship with someone whom you couldn’t stop thinking about. But over time, you realise that you are taking the person for granted. You stop making time for him or her, and your love for this person gradually grows cold. That’s what happened to the church in Ephesus. They needed to return to their first love – a deep enthusiastic love for Jesus, and the Gospel. Take a moment to reflect on your relationship with God. Have you lost the initial passion and love for the things of God? Return to your first love today. Let your love for Jesus grow stronger. It is only those who love Him till the end that will make heaven.
