Saturday, December 6, 2025Key Verse
“And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.” Judges 7:7
Text — Judges 7:1-8
Message
Our Lord gets all the glory when the odds are against us – when victory seems impossible and we depend upon Him. Let us never boast in our own strength but in the strength of the Lord our God (1 Corinthians 1:28,29).
Gideon and his very few army experienced a resounding victory and God alone received the glory. You too will have all round victory if you trust in the Lord to fight all your battles for you. Gideon was one of the judges appointed by God to rule Israel. He was also commissioned as a general to lead the army of Israel against the powerful army of Midian. God then gave Gideon the assurance of Victory. Now Gideon selected thousands of soldiers to go with him to battle, but God would not have that. He instructed Gideon to take the soldiers to the river side. There, only those who scooped water with their hands from where they drank were chosen. They were just three hundred men.
God does not need too many people to accomplish His purpose. If He has chosen you, then see it as a privilege and serve Him faithfully and acceptably
