Key Verse
“And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak” (Ephesians 6:19-20).
Text — Ephesians 6:18-20
Message
A missionary is a Christian who is sent to an area in order to promote the Christian faith and provide relevant services that can help people to achieve better quality of life. Missionaries are given the responsibility to preach the gospel to all people, baptize them, and teach them to do all things that the Lord has commanded in His Word. Jesus is still sending missionaries today to go to places to preach the gospel to facilitate genuine repentance of people and salvation of their souls. However, these missionaries are the target of the devil and his cohorts who are out to attack anyone who talks about Christ and His grace. Thus, it is very important for the Church to devote time to pray for them, especially for those in foreign lands.
Paul, the apostle and missionary in our text, demanded for prayer support from the Ephesian Church, in spite of the fact that he was a spiritual giant. Many would have thought somebody of Paul’s spiritual level needed not to have called for prayers for himself, but he did for the work’s sake.
