Danger Of Distraction

Key Verse

“Remember Lot’s Wife” (Luke 17:32).

Text — Luke 17:28-33

Message

This is one of the most solemn warnings from the lips of Jesus. While admonishing His disciples on the need for eternal vigilance and sobriety in the last days, he referred to a woman who is to be remembered for her worldly lust. Lot’s wife died under divine judgment. She was struck dead and turned into a pillar of salt! What was her offence? She looked back towards Sodom. By that action, she disobeyed divine instruction, ignored solemn warning and despised wise counsel. She was distracted for a moment, and paid a heavy price for her disobedience!

Many young people are easily distracted from their career paths and godly lifestyles today by worldly allures, the social media, and peer pressure. They tend to despise wise counsels of the elders and ignore the warnings of the Scriptures. Concerns about ‘what to eat, what to drink and what to put on’ has also made the Word of God of non-effect in their lives. The signs of the times are all around us and yet, many a youth continues in the broad way. Remember Lot’s wife!

Quote
