Message
In his book, The Secrets of the Millionaires, George Sterne says, “The nuts and bolts behind every fortune are more than just simple motivation. Riches come when desire is coupled with a goal, plan, and lots of hard work.” Indeed, God has made provision for the Christian to be rich through the poverty of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 8:9). However, we must also be hard working. Our memory verse presents diligence as a route to riches. Diligence is defined as persistent and hard-working effort in doing something.
A Christian youth who desires to be rich is expected to be diligent in their studies and work.
The Bible declares, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” (Proverbs 22:29). What a challenge to Christian youths! Indeed, it pays to be diligent. The young man, Joseph was diligent at all stages of his life. This, coupled with his fear of God and integrity, separated him from mean men to stand before kings. Are you like Joseph in diligence and godliness?
