“Do Not Gossip”
Wednesday, April 16, 2025Key Verse
“And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.” Numbers 12:2
Text — Numbers 12:1-8
Message
God expects us to respect the leaders He appoints, whether they are pastors, parents or teachers. They are chosen for a purpose, and we should treat them with respect and listen to them. Gossiping or speaking unkindly about our leaders hurts them and displeases God. Once upon a time in a beautiful Forest, there were two tall and proud trees named Oak and Maple. They were admired by all the other trees because of their strength and wisdom. The two trees heard about a new leader chosen by the animals. Envy led them to gossip about the leader’s decision, causing disunity in the forest. However, a wise old owl intervened, teaching them the dangers of speaking evil of their leader. Realizing their mistake, the trees apologized and pledged to support their leader, thus restoring harmony in the forest.
As children of God, let us vow today not to gossip about God’s chosen leaders. Instead, we should encourage them, show them respect and pray for them. When we do this, they’ll be pleased with us, pray for us and God will be pleased too.
