Text —1 Kings 2:19-25
Message
Further to study our study on asking amiss, it was clear that the intentions of Adonijah as we realized yesterday were deceitful. His request came to Solomon with whom God had gifted wisdom above all men at that time and it fell flat before the erudite King. Adonijah ultimately paid for it with his life for his deceitful act.
Youths who behave like Adonijah in exhibiting deceitfulness or engaging in unscriptural prayers are bound to face a similar outcome of what befell him. A life of deceit will impact negatively on your future and career, and snatch the hope of eternity with God in heaven from you. God hates deceitfulness. Many examples abound in scriptures where people with deceitful intentions paid dearly with their lives. The story of Haman is one to remember in the Scriptures. Friend, the Bible warns: “Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lust” (James 4:3). Be a friend of Jesus so that He can direct you on how to ask in line with the will of God.
