Key Verse
“And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.” Exodus 2:10
Text — Exodus 2:1-10
Message
Moses was born at a difficult time in the land of Egypt. The King of Egypt had ordered the killing of newly born boys. He was one of those that should be killed. His mother however
worked out a plan to keep her baby alive. It was such a risky plan but she trusted in God to make it work. It worked! The King’s daughter found him by the river side in a basket. Miriam, Moses’ sister who had been watching over him suggested to the princess to let her get a woman to nurse Moses. The nurse she smartly got was Moses’ mother.
He grew up in Egypt where sin and idol worship were common. However, he chose not to allow the pleasure of sin to take away all that his mother taught him about God. He made the righteous ways of the Almighty God which he had learnt as a child to guide him. He valued being in a faithful relationship with God than becoming a prince, popular, or rich. God found him available and useful to help deliver Israel from slavery. Moses was
Meek
Obedient
Saintly
Enduring and
Selfless
God has kept you too alive for a good purpose. Avoid the pleasures of sin and have a personal walk and fellowship with God to fulfil that purpose.
