An Evil Heart Of Unbelief

Key Verse

“Take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12).

Text — Hebrew 3:7-13

Message

Our heart is the Centre of all activities. Jesus says “from within, out of the hearts of men proceed evil thought which defile the man.” Any sin committed originates from the heart. No wonder the Scripture says, “keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23). From today’s text the Lord is admonishing us not to harden our hearts as the children of Israel did on their way to the Promise Land. Majority of them did not get there because of the evil heart of unbelief that made them to depart from the living God.

As children of God, we are on our way to our Promise Land (heaven). The Lord is warning us not to follow the same route as they did. This can attract the judgment of God. If you have been manifesting an evil heart of unbelief, the Lord wants you to repent and make your way right with Him. A heart darkened by unbelief and sin can be purged by the precious blood of Jesus.

Quote

Majority of them did not get there
