Accepting The Gift Of God

Key Verse

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:12

Text — John 1:6-12
Message

The story was told of a prisoner who had been condemned. He was waiting for the death sentence to be signed by the president. A day came when a new president was elected. This new president reviewed the death sentence and decided to grant the condemned man a presidential pardon. The president then visited the prison in person to see to the execution of the presidential pardon. Surprisingly, the condemned man seeing the president refused to accept the pardon. He said he does not need the pardon for a reason best known to him. This is the state of many sinful boys and girls,

Many are already aware of the provision of salvation that God has made for them. Yet, they will rather continue in their sinful ways than to accept Jesus Christ, the free gift from heaven to all mankind. Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour came into the world to save all sinners from sin and its effect. But as free as the gift of God from heaven is, He will not force it on anyone except you voluntarily receive Him into your heart. All you need do is to tell Him that you are sorry for your wrong doing. Confess those sins to God. Ask for forgiveness and cleansing of your sin. Then ask Jesus into your heart to be your Personal Saviour and Lord.
