Message
Literally speaking, pressure can be defined as a continuous physical force exerted on or against an object by something in contact with it. It can also refer to use of influence, force, coercion or intimidation to make someone do something, often against his will. Social, emotional and psychological pressures often try to influence how we think, what we believe, what we accept and what we do. Pressures are real today. Through the educational systems, the media and the general disposition of the society, Christian youths are being coerced and intimidated to conform to a pattern of life contrary to Scriptures.
Pressure has lots of negative consequences. It can lead to depression and suicidal thoughts. Elijah was a case in point. While under pressure and threat from Jezebel, he was ready to quit the ministry and even die. A lot of pastors have quit the ministry because of pressure and some youngsters as well have quit school. Friend, don’t let people put you under pressure. You need to build the right values and capacities for going through life. Pray and let your faith stand.
