Key Verse
“And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers” (Acts 18:3).
Text — Acts 18:1-3
Message
Many ministers of the gospel have missed the point of having an occupation with which to financially sustain themselves and their families while serving the Lord. Such people often bring reproach to the name of Christ. Indeed, with the advent of large Christian denominations, there is a need for full time church workers. However, many so-called full-time ministers today ought to be like Apostle Paul, a preacher and a tentmaker who did God’s work and was also actively engaged in an occupation for an income.
This message is meant to prepare every youth for a future of honest service in God’s vineyard while also engaged in secular work. God doesn’t want His children to be loafers. He wants diligent children (Genesis 2:15). As much as possible, no genuine child of God should be a financial burden on others. If you are a student, study hard to enter into a good career where you can serve God and humanity without financial lack. In addition, pray and acquire a marketable skill even as a youth.
Quote

Challenge
No believer should be without an occupation.

Lord, prepare me for a life of financial freedom in Jesus; name.
