Key Verse
“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!” Luke 15:17
Text — Luke 15:17-21
Message
As Kerry thought on the story of the prodigal son that his teacher in the children church told them that Sunday morning, he began to shed tears. “I remember the peace and joy I had when I repented of my sin and became a friend of Jesus. I remember the satisfaction and the love I enjoyed whenever I obeyed You. Dear God, I am sorry, please forgive me.” Kerry became sorry for his naughty life, asked God for forgiveness and was forgiven by God.
Just like the prodigal sincerely repented and went back to his father, so also must you urgently and truthfully repent and ask God to forgive you, if you were once a friend of Jesus but now live in disobedience. To disobey God and sin against Him is bad, but to continue in sin is worse and dangerous. Do you still love to pray and read the Bible like before? Do you easily forgive when offended like before? Do you still love Jesus and obey Him like before? Pray and ask God to help you love Him and obey His Word.
